The Remarkable Story of Reuben Hester.

Singer and songwriter Reuben Hester left school and his small village in Ireland at 16 years old. He moved to Manchester to make music. Fast-forward a few years, and Reuben boards a bus in Manchester Central Coach Station on a whim. Destination: Amsterdam! And so began a years-long journey playing his music on the streets of the major European capitals. 

Settling for a time in Berlin, his fabled street performances soon began to stop traffic. On returning to Manchester, he formed China Lane; as the band’s singer and songwriter, he reached over 1.5 million Spotify streams and secured a sync placement in Netflix series “Insatiable”.

Next, he showcased his songwriting on BBC One Television’s Little Mix “The Search'', performing ‘Sold My Soul’, a song he wrote in memory of his father, who had passed away following a drug overdose at the age of 55. Little Mix were blown away by Reuben’s songwriting, and following his performance, the world’s biggest girl band broke into their own impromptu performance of his song on live TV.

On the advice of Little Mix, Reuben launched his solo career with ‘Sold My Soul’. Spotify UK added it to the New Pop editorial playlist, Little Mix supported it across their social media, and Sold My Soul took off!
